OPEN SAILING

OPEN SAILING

Down a different ice shoot is a new uncertain fait
The unknown is alarming but I’ll dive
For one thing is for certain and that’s here I will stagnate
If I don’t take this risk I won’t survive.

These are the cognitions of a brain that knows attrition
The unknown is inclement but I’ll try
Doubtless if I stay I will decay and grow deficient
My ambitions and purposes will die

Grit my teeth and clench my fists and board the ice shoot’s lip
Throw my jolly bodyweight to slide
Feel the fear of failing meet the joy of open sailing
And let the laws of chaos be my guide.
